Street Photography can be our way of looking at the world.
Via the camera lens we, the photographers are constantly looking around us, searching for that ‘decisive’
moment that will never return, unless we catch it. When pushing the button, we try to make some sense, restore order to the chaotic scheme of things in the composition, tell the story behind the scene and frame a surrealistic moment.
Athens is one of the fantastic cities in the world and the photographic potential there is great.
Gabi and Yiannis will be running a two days street photography workshop that will take place from June 28 until June 29 2019.

I am an Israeli-born street photographer presently living in Tel Aviv. After flirting with an initial fascination with photography and film cameras in the 1980's, I put my love for the still image aside.
Fortunately, my interest never disappeared: while the passion lay dormant for decades, all it took was the gift of a camera from my wife to awaken my inclination towards photography again.
I shoot independently and teach in Street Photography workshops.
I am a member of "Thestreetcollective", which was founded in 2013, and have since been documenting the occurrences of the streets from a personal perspective.
My photos have been exhibited at several solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions around the world.
My name is Yiannis Yiasaris. I am from Greece but have lived in Australia for the last 17 years.
My first contact with photography was years ago in high school when I was involved in a class project. I became involved with photography again 5 years ago when I took part in some mobile photo competitions.I didn't know the kind of photography I was interested in but remember that from a young age, I had an interest and curiosity about the world around me and loved to watch people go about their daily lives. This interest in people leads me many years later to discover my passion for street photography. What excites me about street photography is the feeling of being on a hunt for that special moment where all the above elements need to come together to create something memorable for the viewer. In 2016 I was voted the best Black & White photographer in Australia and finalist in 2017 and 2018 . in 2018 was in the top 12 Aussie Street Photographers and finalist in to Miami Street photography festival and among the winners in the 8th Annual MPA - Mobile Street Photography. Photographs and interviews of mine have been published in several magazines and street photography blogs such as APF, Eyeshot, Lens Culture, 121 clicks, Vogue, National Geographic, Street Hunters, Ifocus, Protagon,Photologio,SBS etc. . I have also published two limited editions books, one in black and white and the other in color. My photos have been exhibited at several group exhibitions around the world.
