Το Μουσείο Γαΐτη–Σίμωσι εγκαινιάζει το εκθεσιακό του πρόγραμμα για το 2026 με την ατομική έκθεση Ios: In the Light of the Gods του βραβευμένου Βρετανού δημιουργού Paul Raphael, σε επιμέλεια του Jean Blanchaert.
Η έκθεση συγκεντρώνει 30 φωτογραφικά έργα αφιερωμένα στην Ίο, αποτυπώνοντας με ένταση και ευαισθησία τα δραματικά τοπία και τη σπάνια ποιότητα του ελληνικού φωτός. Ο Raphael προσεγγίζει το νησί ως έναν τόπο σχεδόν μυθικό, όπου το φως λειτουργεί όχι απλώς ως φυσικό φαινόμενο αλλά ως πρωταγωνιστής της εικόνας.
Τα έργα παρουσιάζονται σε φωτεινά light boxes, ενισχύοντας τη βιωματική εμπειρία του θεατή και αναδεικνύοντας τις αντιθέσεις της εποχικότητας: από τη λαμπερή καθαρότητα του καλοκαιριού έως την άγρια, σχεδόν υπερβατική ατμόσφαιρα του χειμώνα. Μέσα από αυτή τη διττότητα, η έκθεση αποκαλύπτει μια πιο ουσιαστική, διαχρονική όψη του μεσογειακού τοπίου.
